I am aware of the issue regarding the incorrectly labeled 'Analog Up/Down' in the controller preferences. After remapping the Analog sticks (Down is up, Up is down), everything seems to work fine. In Mupen64Plus, The analog sticks work wonderfully. I use the Left stick as the N64 control stick and the Right stick as the C-buttons with no problem.

However, in PPSSPP, there are some issues. I am able to correctly remap the Left Analog stick in the preferences, but something strange happens in game. When I push left or down on the Analog stick, everything is fine. When I push up or right, the signal is incredibly weak. I'll give an example: in a game, the player character's movement is controlled by the Left Analog stick. If I push left, the character runs left. If I push down, the character runs toward the screen. Both of those direction work as expected. However, when pushing up or right, the character inches along as if the stick were just barely leaving the dead zone.
Open the preferred emulator and access the “Preferences” menu. Open the sub-menu, “Configure Controller,” “Joystick” or similar. Select the PS3 controller from the list of options. If the PS3 controller is not an option, skip to Section 2 – Installing a Driver.
This happens in both experimental versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2, and I have only noticed it as a problem in PPSSPP. If I notice any more strange patterns along the way, I will share those here.
P.S. - I just started using OpenEmu yesterday. I'm still getting used to it, but I am loving it! Of all the apps of its kind, OpenEmu is by far the cleanest, easiest, and must fun to use. Keep up the great work!

How to use a generic controller for PPSSPP? Hi guys! First of all, this is an amazing product. I will eventually buy the Gold version if I get the ins and outs of it. This is my first time to try this with a controller. I bought a controller earlier today and was wondering how to use it for the PPSSPP. Yes, I have googled but I haven't found any solution. The pc reads my controller but the PPSSPP couldn't. Please help me. Thank you guys |

RE: How to use a generic controller for PPSSPP? It could be wise to tell us the model of your gamepad, maybe the devs will work for making it compatible with PPSSPP. In the meantime you can use some wrapper library like this in order to let think the emu that you are using an xobx36 gamepad (although take note that I've not tested this), or use some keyboard simulator like xpadder. Since English is not my first language sorry for some misspelling on my posts |
